Terms of Service

Last updated: June 2026

Welcome to Daymend

By using Daymend, you agree to these terms. They're written in plain English so you actually know what you're agreeing to.

Eligibility

You need to be at least 16 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent where you live, to use Daymend. By using the app, you confirm that you meet this age requirement and that the account is your own.

The service

Daymend delivers 7 curated positive news stories daily to help you start your day well. Stories are sourced from third-party publishers, and AI-generated summaries are provided for convenience. While we strive for accuracy, summaries may not perfectly represent the original articles. Always tap through to the source for the full story.

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your account secure. Don't share your login credentials with others. If you notice any unauthorized access, let us know immediately. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms or abuse the service. You can stop using Daymend at any time and delete your account directly in the app (Settings > Delete Account); your data is then removed as described in our Privacy Policy.

Content and intellectual property

News stories are sourced from third-party publishers and remain their intellectual property. We link to original sources and don't claim ownership. Our AI summaries, the Daymend brand, app design, and curated collections are our intellectual property. You may not scrape, redistribute, or commercially use our content or summaries without permission. Daymend has no public posting: your hearts, shares, skips, streaks, and mood entries are private signals used to run your experience, not content you publish for others.

Subscriptions and billing

Premium unlocks extra features through an auto-renewing subscription. Two plans are available: monthly at $8.99 per month and yearly at $54.99 per year. Both begin with a 7-day free trial. At the end of the trial your subscription starts automatically and payment is charged to your App Store or Google Play account; if you subscribe without a trial, payment is charged when you confirm the purchase. Your subscription renews automatically at the same price, and your account is charged for the renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends. You can turn off auto-renewal at any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings; to avoid the next charge, turn it off at least 24 hours before the period ends. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription. Cancelling stops the next renewal but does not refund the current period, and refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own refund policies. Current prices are always shown in the app before you buy, and we may change prices in the future with advance notice. Some early supporters hold a one-time lifetime purchase that gives permanent Premium access and does not auto-renew.

End User License Agreement

Your use of Daymend on Apple devices is also subject to Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, available at https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/. If anything in these terms conflicts with that agreement, Apple's agreement governs for App Store-specific matters. Apple is not a party to these terms, but Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of them and may enforce them. Maintenance and support for Daymend are provided by us, not by Apple, and Apple has no warranty obligation for the app. On Android, your use is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service.

Your privacy

Your use of Daymend is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights under GDPR. You can read it at daymend.com/privacy.

No warranty

Daymend is provided as is and as available. We work hard to keep the stories accurate and the app running smoothly, but we can't promise the summaries are free of mistakes or that the service will always be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent the law allows, we provide the app without warranties of any kind. This doesn't affect any rights you have under mandatory consumer-protection law that can't be waived.

Limitation of liability

Daymend is a positive news app, not professional advice of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or incidental losses arising from your use of the app, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited under the law, including under mandatory consumer-protection rules in your country.

Availability

We aim to keep Daymend available at all times, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance, updates, or experience outages. We're not liable for any loss resulting from service unavailability.

Acceptable use

Don't abuse the service. This means no automated scraping, no reverse engineering the API, no attempting to circumvent subscription restrictions, and no using the service in ways that could harm other users or our infrastructure.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Sweden, where Daymend is operated, and any disputes will be handled by the Swedish courts. If you're a consumer, this doesn't take away any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under the laws of the country you live in.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. We'll notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use after changes means you accept the new terms.
